Class 1 Long-Haul Flatbed Truck Driver

Our company in Winnipeg, MB needs a Class 1 long-haul driver to move countertops between branches and suppliers across Canada on a set route, using flatbed, step deck or double drop trailers.

What you'll haul

• Countertops transported on flatbed, step deck or double drop trailers

• Trips follow a set route with out-of-town and overnight travel throughout Canada

• You'll plan routes using GPS, check in on location as needed, and stick to the trip schedule

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license, kept current at all times

• Forklift certified, or willing to get certified

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 10 years of long-haul driving experience

• At least 1 year handling step deck, double drop or flatbed loads

• Solid grasp of highway and road rules

• Valid work permit

• Comfortable with basic math

• Able to lift 100 lbs with assistance

• Comfortable behind the wheel for long stretches, including in winter conditions

• Clean driving record and clear criminal record

What the job involves

• Loading, unloading and securing cargo, then logging each delivery

• Refueling and keeping the truck clean and well maintained

• Flagging any road incidents or mechanical issues to your supervisor or maintenance team right away

• Following accident procedures and traffic laws

• Turning in trip paperwork to your supervisor at the end of each shift

• Keeping a positive, professional manner with coworkers and customers
