About this job
Our company, based in Acheson, AB, is looking for a Class 1 driver to work as a salaried floater on overnight long-haul routes across Western and Northern Canada. You'll log your Hours of Service, inspect your tractor-trailer before trips, and drive safely on long combination runs.
Pay
- Guaranteed base salary of $78K-87K per year
- Meal allowance of $40 per diem
- Mileage allowance for use of your personal vehicle
- Paid training
What you'll haul
- Long-haul freight throughout Western and Northern Canada
- Mix of work including city pickup and delivery, highway driving, shunting and team driving
- Training provided for Long Combination Vehicle (LCV) operations and mountain driving
Schedule
- Overnight and long-haul runs, with shifts at any time of day or night
- Trips that can keep you out 1-2 weeks at a stretch
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence
- At least 2 years of verified Class 1 driving experience
- Willing to train on LCV and mountain routes
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Flexible to take on any driving assignment, including city, highway, shunting or team work
- Clean abstract with fewer than 5 demerits
- Clear criminal record check
