About this job
Our company is looking for an experienced log truck driver to haul logs from cut blocks to mills near Hinton, AB. This is steady, year-round work with camp accommodations provided.
Pay and benefits
- $50.00 per hour
- Dental care, extended health care, vision care and life insurance
- Work available roughly 10 months of the year
- On-site mechanic and camp accommodations included
- Full-time, permanent position
What you'll haul
- Logs, moved from cut blocks to mills and other assigned drop points
- Driving happens on both highway and off-highway forestry roads, in all kinds of weather
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence
- At least 2 years of experience hauling logs
- Comfortable handling log trucks and trailers in rough road and forestry conditions
- Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to follow highway rules and company procedures
- Mechanical know-how is a plus
What you'll do
- Operate the log truck and trailer safely
- Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections every day
- Keep logbooks and paperwork up to date
- Work as part of a supportive crew based out of Hinton, AB
