About this job
Pac Rim Distribution is looking for an experienced Class 1 driver for local multi-stop delivery routes on Vancouver Island, covering the Cowichan Valley to Campbell River area. This is a hands-on role where you handle freight at each stop and build relationships with regular customers, not just a drop-and-go route.
Pay
- $33.35 per hour, with a top rate of $34.35 per hour
- Safe driving bonuses and overtime opportunities
Schedule
- Day shifts, 10 hours each
- Mainly weekday, daytime routes
- Fully local, no overnight or long-haul driving
What you'll haul
- Multi-stop local delivery routes, roughly 8 to 15 stops per day
- Palletized freight unloaded using proper techniques
- Hand-cart deliveries carried directly into customer locations
- Frequent face-to-face contact with customers at each stop
Equipment
- Well-maintained trucks and trailers backed by an active maintenance program
- Fleet continually upgraded through a phased replacement plan
- Digital tools including electronic signature capture, e-DVIRs and route optimization to cut down on paperwork and keep routes efficient
What to expect
- Consistent routes that let you get to know your customers
- A mix of driving and physical delivery work rather than long stretches behind the wheel
- A supportive, team-based environment
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- At least 6 months of Class 1 driving experience
- Able to lift up to 45 lbs regularly
- Must be bondable and pass a background check
