About this job
Our company is looking for a Class 1 truck driver for local city delivery work in Saskatoon, SK. You'll be home every day, running local routes and handling general freight pickups and drop-offs for customers in the area.
Schedule
- Full-time position based out of Saskatoon
- Open availability needed, as start times and shifts vary
- Be ready for some overtime, weekend work, or overnight runs depending on operational needs
What you'll do
- Drive a tractor-trailer safely to move freight around Saskatoon
- Handle deliveries and pickups at customer sites in a timely, professional way
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains and load bars
- Do full pre-trip and post-trip inspections (tires, brakes, lights, cargo securement) and flag any issues to maintenance
- Keep accurate paperwork, including electronic logs, inspection reports, delivery records and any incident reports
- Follow hours-of-service rules and all safety and company procedures
- Use tailgates, forklifts, pallet jacks, pump trucks or Moffetts if the load requires it
- Be able to hand-load and hand-unload freight when needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with manual transmission skills
- Bondable and legally able to work in Canada
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- At least 1 year of verifiable Class 1 driving experience, with recent commercial driving history within the last 3 months to a year
- Solid grasp of road safety rules, hours-of-service regulations and proper load securement
- Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Good communication and customer service skills with a safety-first mindset
- Familiarity with Saskatoon and the surrounding area
