Van-Kam Freightways is hiring a Class 1 linehaul driver out of their Kamloops, BC terminal. Van-Kam is a major LTL carrier in Western Canada with 8 BC terminals, moving freight across BC, Alberta, and beyond through its own fleet and partner network.
Pay
- $0.75 per mile
- $32.61 per hour for pre-trip/post-trip checks, wait times, and similar duties
- $50 quarterly safety bonus
- Actual earnings depend on things like your route, availability, hours worked, and performance factors such as efficiency and safety results - the hiring team can walk you through specifics
What you'll do
- Run pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
- Help load or unload trailers when needed
- Flag any problems right away
- Follow hours-of-service rules and other transportation regulations
- Keep accurate delivery records
- Stay in touch with dispatch and your team
- Follow safety and security procedures
- Deliver strong customer service
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license
- 3 years of highway driving experience in winter conditions
- Comfortable driving at night
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
- Good time management and problem-solving ability
