Class 1 Heavy Haul / Winch Tractor Driver — $36–$46/hr

Our company, based in Acheson, AB, hauls specialized and oversized loads for oil and gas, construction, energy and infrastructure clients across Western Canada and the US. This full-time, permanent role is for an experienced heavy haul or winch tractor driver, with assignments matched to your background and equipment skills.

Pay

• $36-$46 per hour (posting also lists pay starting from $40.00 per hour)

• Expected hours: 40 to 70 per week

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment and specialized loads using lowbeds, RGN trailers, bed trucks, winch tractors and multi-axle setups

• Work tied to oilfield and related heavy equipment transport

Day to day

• Operate the tractor-trailer combination that fits your qualifications

• Load, unload, position and secure heavy equipment following approved procedures

• Carry out winching tasks when you're trained and assigned to do so

• Handle pre-trip and post-trip checks, equipment inspections and daily field-level hazard assessments

• Stick to permit terms, approved routes, securement rules and transport regulations

• Stay in contact with dispatch, supervisors, escorts and site staff

• Fill out electronic logs, bills of lading and other paperwork accurately

• Keep your equipment clean and organized, and flag any defects or maintenance issues right away

• Follow both BDS and client safety protocols

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 licence

• At least 3 years in heavy haul transport or winch tractor work

• Demonstrated skill loading, unloading and securing heavy equipment safely

• Background with lowbed or multi-axle trailers, winch tractors, or oilfield equipment hauling

• Solid grasp of cargo securement rules and the permits relevant to your work

• Comfortable working independently, communicating clearly and using good judgment

• Open to extended hours and travel as the job demands

• Able to commute to or relocate to Acheson, Alberta (relocation package provided)

• Must clear a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen

Nice to have

• Experience in both heavy haul and winch tractor operations

• Background with 6 to 19 axle configurations

• Experience with RGN and Texas bed trailers

• Mountain driving experience

• Valid passport for cross-border runs
