About this job
Our company Utilities needs a Heavy Haul Truck Driver in Winnipeg, MB for a 6-month contract that could run longer. You'll run Class 1 winch trucks and equipment float trailers, moving heavy machinery to and from utility and infrastructure job sites around Manitoba.
What you'll haul
- Equipment, materials and supplies, moved with winch trucks and equipment float trailers
What you'll do
- Run pre-trip, post-trip and daily checks and complete the paperwork that goes with them
- Map out routes that are safe and efficient while staying within transport rules
- Tie down loads correctly and pitch in with loading, unloading and getting equipment moving
- Keep your truck and gear clean and in safe operating shape
- Pitch in on general labour and site duties when the job calls for it
- Head out to different project sites, including jobs away from town
Requirements
- Current Class 1 licence with Air Brake (Z) endorsement
- A solid, clean record on your driver's abstract
- Hands-on experience running winch trucks and hauling heavy machinery
- Background working on highway, civil, utility or construction jobs
- Your own way of getting to project sites
- Ready to travel and spend extended stretches working away from home
- Must clear the company's drug and alcohol screening
