Class 1 Heavy Haul Truck Driver — $30–$58/hr

Our company needs a Class 1 Heavy Haul Driver based out of Airdrie, Alberta to run oversized and overweight freight across Canada and the US. This is a full-time permanent role, starting right away, with pay between $30.00-$58.00 per hour.

What you'll haul

Oversized and overweight loads, with routes that cross both Canadian and US borders.

What the job involves

• Running heavy haul trucks with oversized and overweight freight

• Mapping out routes that are safe and efficient, and doing full pre-trip, en-route and post-trip checks

• Loading and unloading cargo, which may involve forklifts or other gear

• Chaining and strapping loads correctly, and staying on top of your logbooks

• Staying in touch with dispatch, customers and escort vehicle drivers

• Sticking to every applicable safety and transport regulation

Requirements

• Class 1 license, current and valid

• A minimum of 3 years running heavy haul or long-distance freight

• A driver's abstract free of issues

• Background handling oversized and overweight permits and loads

• Strong grasp of how to secure freight properly

• Willingness to be away on the road for extended periods with variable hours

• Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening both before hire and after any incident

• A plus if you've coordinated with pilot or escort vehicles, know routes through Western Canada and the US, or have some mechanical know-how
