About this job
Our company needs Highway Maintenance Driver/Labourers in Campbell River for the upcoming winter season, roughly November 2026 through April 2027. This is a seasonal/casual role supporting winter road operations across the North Island.
Schedule
- Shifts vary and include days, nights, weekends and graveyard.
- You may be called in on-call during snow and winter storm events.
What you'll do
- Drive sanding, plowing and salting trucks during winter weather.
- Help manage snow and ice conditions on highways and roads.
- Haul materials using company trucks.
- Remove litter, debris and roadkill from the roadway.
- Handle other general highway maintenance tasks as needed.
- Work outside in variable and sometimes tough weather.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 licence with an Air Brake endorsement.
- Clean driving record.
- Construction or highway maintenance background is a plus, not mandatory.
- Quick to learn, with decent mechanical know-how.
- Good communicator who works well on a team.
- Safety-focused mindset.
