CDL School Bus Driver — $29.06–$32.28/hr, $2,000 Sign-On Bonus

Zum is looking for school bus drivers in Spokane, WA to get students to and from school safely. Both certified CDL holders and non-certified applicants are welcome to apply, and training is provided if you need it.

Pay

• $29.06 to $32.28 per hour

• Part-time, about 20 hours per week

• 4 guaranteed daily hours

Sign-on bonus and training incentives

• Fully certified drivers who start by August 31, 2026 (this date may be extended) can get a $2,000 sign-on bonus, paid as $1,000 at 90 working days and $1,000 at 180 working days. You forfeit any unpaid portion if you quit or are let go before those milestones.

• To qualify for the bonus you need a valid CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement, School Bus (S) endorsement, and Air Brake qualification.

• If you're not yet certified, CDL training is free. Once you have your permit and start Behind-the-Wheel Training, you'll be paid for up to 25 hours at the non-revenue rate, plus you can earn training milestone bonuses worth up to $1,200.

What you'll do

• Drive your assigned bus safely, following company and regulatory rules

• Complete full pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report problems right away

• Stick to your routes and schedule, showing up on time

• Keep students safe and well-behaved on board

Schedule

• Split shifts, mornings and afternoons, daily

• Nights, weekends, holidays and summers off

Requirements

If you're already certified:

• At least 21 years old

• Valid CDL with S and P endorsements

• Three years of CDL experience with a clean driving record

• Able to pass pre-employment screening

• Good communicator who enjoys working with kids

If you're not yet certified:

• At least 21 years old

• Valid driver's license held for three years with a clean record

• Willing and able to earn a CDL with S and P endorsements (training provided)

• Able to pass pre-employment screening

• Good communicator who enjoys working with kids
