CDL School Bus Driver — $2,000 Sign-On Bonus, Paid CDL Training

Zum is looking for school bus drivers in Spokane, WA to get students to and from school safely. Both licensed CDL holders and people new to the field are welcome to apply, and training is provided if you don't yet have your endorsements.

Pay

• $29.06 to $32.28 per hour

• Part-time, about 20 hours per week

• 4 guaranteed daily hours

Sign-on bonus for certified drivers

• $2,000 total for drivers who already hold a CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements plus Air Brake Qualification, starting by August 31, 2026 (this date may be extended)

• Paid as $1,000 after 90 working days and $1,000 after 180 working days

• You lose the unpaid portion if you quit or are let go before a payout date

Training incentives for new drivers

• CDL training is fully paid for by Zum

• Once you have your CDL permit and start Behind-the-Wheel Training, you can earn pay for up to 25 hours at the non-revenue rate

• Milestone bonuses during training can add up to $1,200 total

Schedule

• Split shifts, mornings and afternoons, every working day

• Off nights, weekends, holidays and summers

What you'll do

• Drive your assigned bus safely and in line with company and legal rules

• Check the vehicle before and after each run and report problems right away

• Stick to your routes and timing

• Keep order on board and look out for every rider's safety

Requirements for licensed (certified) applicants

• At least 21 years old

• Valid CDL with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements

• Three years of CDL driving experience with a clean record

• Able to pass required pre-employment checks

• Comfortable working split AM/PM shifts

• Strong communication skills and enjoy working with kids

Requirements for new (non-certified) applicants

• At least 21 years old

• Held a valid driver's license for three years with a clean record

• Willing and able to earn a CDL with S and P endorsements (training provided)

• Able to pass required pre-employment checks

• Comfortable working split AM/PM shifts

• Strong communication skills and enjoy working with kids
