CDL School Bus Driver — $2,000 Sign-On Bonus, $29.06–$32.28/hr

Zum is looking for school bus drivers in Spokane, WA to safely transport students on their routes. Both licensed CDL drivers and newcomers without a CDL are welcome to apply, with training provided for those who need it. This is a part-time role with about 20 hours a week and at least 4 guaranteed hours daily.

Pay

• $29.06 to $32.28 per hour

• 4 guaranteed daily hours

• Fully certified drivers who start by August 31, 2026 can get a $2,000 sign-on bonus (may be extended): $1,000 paid after 90 working days and $1,000 after 180 working days. You forfeit any unpaid portion if you quit or are let go before a payout date. You need a valid CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements plus Air Brake Qualification to qualify.

• If you're not yet certified, your CDL training is free. Once you hold your CDL permit and start Behind-the-Wheel Training, you can earn pay for up to 25 hours at the non-revenue rate, plus milestone bonuses worth up to $1,200 as you progress through training.

Schedule

• Split AM/PM shifts each working day

• Nights, weekends, holidays and summers off

• Newer, air-conditioned buses with Zum's own onboard technology

What the job involves

• Operating your assigned bus safely and in line with company and regulatory rules

• Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting problems right away

• Running your route on schedule and acting professionally

• Keeping students safe and well-behaved onboard

Requirements

For licensed CDL applicants:

• At least 21 years old

• Valid CDL with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements

• Three years of CDL driving experience with a clean record

• Able to pass required pre-employment screening

• Available for daily split shifts

• Strong communicator who enjoys working with kids

For applicants without a CDL yet:

• At least 21 years old

• Valid driver's license held for three years with a clean record

• Willing and able to earn a CDL with S and P endorsements (training provided)

• Able to pass required pre-employment screening

• Available for daily split shifts

• Strong communicator who enjoys working with kids
