CDL Owner-Operator Truck Driver — OTR Routes

Our company in Columbus, OH is looking for an experienced owner-operator to run over-the-road freight. You'll supply and manage your own tractor-trailer while hauling a variety of loads and keeping deliveries on schedule.

What you'll haul

• Long-distance OTR runs, possibly in flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers

• General freight as well as hazardous materials and dangerous goods, handled per DOT rules

• Loading and unloading cargo using proper, safe handling methods

What the job involves

• Planning and following routes with GPS to hit delivery windows

• Keeping your truck in safe running order through regular checks, upkeep, and cleaning

• Logging mileage, fuel use, delivery times, and other trip data

• Staying in touch with dispatch about route changes or problems on the road

• Following all federal, state, and company rules for commercial driving, including FMCSA and DOT standards, with accurate paperwork for every load

Requirements

• Solid background in commercial truck driving, including delivery and route work

• Experience with refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker equipment is a plus

• Comfortable with freight loading/unloading and cargo handling procedures

• Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT rules, plus hazmat handling regulations

• Manual transmission experience is a plus

• Valid CDL with the endorsements needed for the freight you'll carry (for example, Hazmat)

• Able to run GPS navigation reliably in different conditions

• Strong grasp of safety practices for hauling dangerous goods and driving generally

This is an in-person position based out of Columbus, OH, suited to a safety-focused, professional owner-operator ready to handle varied OTR freight.
