About this job
Our company is looking for an experienced commercial driver to haul and set up mobile MRI trailers at imaging sites across North Carolina. You will work independently, handling both the driving and the on-site setup of the unit, in a healthcare-related environment that includes night and weekend work.
Location
- You can be based anywhere in North Carolina, since this role is home-based with travel to assigned sites around the region.
What you'll do
- Haul mobile MRI trailers between sites and maneuver them in and out of tight spots at each location.
- Position the unit on the MR pad, unhook the trailer, and use lifts or air bags to level and stabilize it.
- Set up front and rear stabilizers, raise the lift and awning, hook up CAT 5 and phone lines, and refuel the generator.
- Stay on site for extended periods when needed, to support unit servicing or changes in the patient schedule.
- Handle routine upkeep on both the truck and trailer: tires, lift gate, basic chiller/cold head resets, glycol and fuel levels, and humidifier water levels.
- Keep required logs and stay current with DOT rules, including an annual DOT physical and being available for random drug testing on 24-hour notice.
- Track your expenses and keep receipts.
- Drive at night and cover long distances as assignments require.
What they're looking for
- A clean driving history.
- Strong customer-facing skills and professionalism when representing the center.
- Good communication with center managers and teammates, including staying in the loop on schedule changes or updates.
- Comfort working solo with little oversight, staying organized under pressure, and adjusting to shifting pickup and delivery needs.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- An active, valid Commercial Driver's License.
- At least 3 years of tractor-trailer driving experience; prior experience driving a mobile unit is a plus.
