CDL Long Haul Truck Driver — Surrey, BC to California

Pacific Coast Express is looking for an experienced long-haul truck driver to run routes between Surrey, BC and California. You'll handle loading, unloading and cargo security, plus basic vehicle checks along the way.

What you'll do

• Drive a heavy-duty truck on long-haul runs to and from California

• Load and unload freight, using forklifts or pallet jacks as needed

• Secure all cargo properly to avoid damage in transit

• Check your vehicle for mechanical problems and handle basic upkeep like oil and tire pressure

• Follow all traffic laws

• Keep records of mileage, fuel use, deliveries, and any delays or incidents

Requirements

• Class 1 licence, required

• Valid CDL with a clean driving record

• At least 25 years old

• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience, with the ability to run long haul to California

• FAST card required

• Comfortable operating loading equipment like forklifts

• Solid grasp of traffic laws and regulations

• Good communication skills for dealing with customers and coworkers

• Able to work independently with little supervision

• Basic automotive repair and maintenance knowledge is a plus

Pay

• $0.60 per mile

• $35 per extra pickup or drop

• $25 per hour for waiting time

• $200 layover pay

• About 4 trips per month
