CDL Front Load/Roll-Off Driver (Manual Transmission) — $26–$28/hr

Royal Oak Recycling in Cleveland, OH needs a front load and roll-off driver who can run a manual-transmission roll-off truck. You'll pick up and deliver recyclable materials for commercial, retail, and industrial customers, and may occasionally cover 53-foot tractor-trailer swap routes between company facilities, vendors, and customers.

Pay

• $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

What you'll haul

• Containers of recyclables, cardboard, paper, plastics, and other approved materials, loaded and unloaded using hydraulic hoists, cables, hooks, and arms

• Occasional 53-foot tractor-trailer moves (loaded and empty) between Royal Oak Recycling locations, customers, and vendors for swap-driver coverage

What you'll do

• Drive front-load and roll-off trucks safely to customer sites, recycling facilities, and yards

• Check containers and loads before hauling them and flag any that are damaged, overloaded, or unsafe

• Follow each customer site's loading and unloading procedures, along with any spotter or crew signals

• Secure loads before driving and complete trailer swaps or yard moves as needed

• Handle paperwork such as signed invoices, bills of lading, scale tickets, and manifests, and turn it in to your office or supervisor

• Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections, basic service checks (oil, coolant, tires, brakes, lights, hydraulics), and report any mechanical issues right away

• Keep your truck and equipment clean and in safe working order

• Stay in communication with dispatch and management while working independently

Requirements

• Valid CDL matching the equipment you'll run; Class A is strongly preferred for flexibility on tractor-trailer swap routes, but Class B drivers with the right experience will be considered for front load and roll-off work

• Hands-on experience running a manual-transmission roll-off truck is required — automatic-transmission experience alone won't qualify

• Prior commercial driving experience required; front-load truck experience is strongly preferred

• Tractor-trailer/53-foot van experience preferred if you hold a Class A

• Recycling, waste management, transportation, or material handling background is a plus

• Clean driving record, and you must pass DOT background and drug screening

• Able to lift up to 45 pounds, climb in and out of the cab and onto equipment, and work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Comfortable traveling frequently, including across state lines when required

Work environment

You'll be working across commercial businesses, retail sites, industrial facilities, recycling plants, customer yards, and public roads, around heavy equipment, hydraulics, and moving vehicles in varying weather.
