About this job
Our company in Seymour, CT needs a dump truck driver to haul bulk materials like gravel, sand and debris to job sites. Both part-time and full-time schedules are available, with day and night shifts, and retired drivers are welcome to apply. Pay is on a 1099 basis.

What you'll do
- Drive dump trucks safely, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Load and unload materials, using equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when needed
- May also run other truck types as needed, such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, reefers or tankers
- Plan routes to hit pickup and drop-off times
- Do pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and keep up with maintenance needs
- Keep dispatchers and site managers updated on delivery status or any problems on the road
- Log hours driven, materials hauled and inspection records as required
Requirements
- Hands-on experience driving dump trucks or similar heavy equipment commercially
- Valid CDL with endorsements matching the equipment you'll run (for example manual transmission or tanker)
- Comfortable working with different trailer types: flatbed, reefer, tanker, roll-off
- Background in loading/unloading, route driving and freight delivery
- Able to run auxiliary equipment like forklifts for loading or unloading when needed
- Solid grasp of safety practices for driving, handling materials and following road rules
- Delivery driving experience is a plus but not required if you're willing to learn our processes
