About this job
Our company (ILS) is hiring a CDL Driver to handle commercial vehicle deliveries in Miami, FL. You will keep cargo moving safely and on schedule while following all transportation laws and company rules.
What you'll do
- Drive commercial vehicles in line with applicable regulations and company policy
- Check your vehicle before and after each trip for mechanical safety
- Plan routes and timing to hit delivery deadlines while saving fuel and time
- Load, unload and secure freight properly
- Keep accurate records of your hours, inspections and deliveries
- Stay in touch with dispatch and customers to give updates and solve problems
- Follow safety rules and report accidents, violations or equipment issues right away
Requirements
- Valid CDL matching the vehicle class you will drive
- Clean driving history, with no serious violations recently
- Able to pass a DOT physical exam and drug test
- Track record of operating commercial vehicles safely
- Understanding of federal and state trucking regulations
Preferred
- Background in long-haul or regional routes
- Comfortable with ELDs and GPS tools
- Extra endorsements like HazMat, Tanker or Doubles/Triples
- Good customer service skills and comfort handling delivery paperwork
- Basic know-how for vehicle upkeep and minor repairs
