About this job
Our company contracts independent drivers to move units over the road nationwide. You're not a company driver or an owner/operator - you run as a 1099 contractor and pick the loads that work for your schedule, with divisions covering Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom freight.
Pay
- $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge on most divisions, with the rate depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay once your paperwork and logs are turned in and approved
- Bonus programs for referrals, clean inspections, mileage, loads, and safety
Schedule and loads
- You choose which loads to run, but you need to stay active with 3 to 5 loads completed each month
- Expect to run 2 to 5 loads monthly while keeping control of your own schedule
- Average loads run 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Check in with your dispatcher at least weekly, even between loads
- Despite the company name, all contracted drivers run solo - there are no team positions
What you'll haul
Units transported nationwide on OTR runs, spanning Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom divisions.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B (Deck positions need a Double/Triple endorsement)
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the past 3 years; Deck positions need 2 years OTR experience plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience in the past 3 years
- Rideshare or gig delivery driving (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Spark, etc.) does not count toward experience
- A relatively clean driving record and steady work history
- Ability to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of companies hauled for over the last 3 years for verification
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules, with daily logging done through the Motive app - paper logs aren't accepted
- Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
- Timely submission of all required paperwork and consistent communication with dispatch
- On-time arrival for every pickup and delivery
- A professional, positive attitude
- Use of MacroPoint for Truckers to share real-time load tracking with customers
- Proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections logged for every load, plus photo documentation
- You cover your own fuel and are asked to keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required - details given during the application process
Benefits
This is a 1099 independent contractor role, so no company benefits are included.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
