About this job
Our company contracts independent drivers to move units on OTR routes across the country. You work as a 1099 independent contractor, not a company driver or owner-operator, and you choose which loads fit your schedule across divisions like Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom.
Pay
- Earn $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge, with exact rates depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay kicks in once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include referral, clean inspection, mileage, load, and safety bonuses
Schedule and loads
- You pick the loads you want to run, but you need to complete 3 to 5 per month to stay active
- Typical monthly volume is 2 to 5 loads, giving you control over your time
- Loads generally run 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Despite the company name, all contracted drivers run solo; there are no team positions
- Weekly check-ins with your dispatcher are required even between loads
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL; Deck positions need a Double/Triple (T) Endorsement
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the past 3 years (2 years plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience for Deck positions)
- Rideshare or delivery app driving (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Spark, etc.) doesn't count toward experience
- A reasonably clean driving record and steady work history
- Ability to supply DOT numbers from past employers and proof of companies hauled for over the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT Hours of Service rules, with daily electronic logs kept through the Motive app (no paper logs)
- Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
- On-time submission of paperwork and strong communication with dispatch
- Reliable, on-time arrivals at every pickup and delivery
- Use of MacroPoint for real-time load tracking
- Properly logged pre-trip and post-trip inspections, plus photo documentation for every load
- You cover fuel costs and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required (details provided during the application process)
Benefits
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with no company benefits package.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
