About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractor drivers to move units on over-the-road routes across the country. This is a contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator role, and despite the company name, all contracted drivers run solo rather than as teams.
Pay
- Earn $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge on most divisions, with exact pay depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay is available once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include a referral bonus, a clean inspection bonus, a mileage bonus, a load bonus and a safety bonus
What you'll haul
- Work is available across several divisions: Singles, New Deck, Used Deck and Boom
- You choose which loads to run, typically completing 3 to 5 per month to stay active
- Loads average 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
Schedule
- You control your own schedule and pick the loads that work for you
- A weekly check-in with your dispatcher is required even between loads
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B (Deck positions need a Double/Triple endorsement)
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the last 3 years; Deck positions need at least 2 years of OTR experience plus 1 year of decking and un-decking experience in that same window
- Rideshare or delivery app driving does not count toward your experience
- A reasonably clean driving record and a stable work history
- Ability to provide DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of companies you've hauled for in the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules, with daily electronic logging through the Motive app (paper logs aren't accepted)
- Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
- On-time submission of paperwork and consistent communication with dispatch
- On-time arrival for every pickup and delivery, with a professional attitude throughout
- Use of MacroPoint for real-time load tracking
- Proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections and photo documentation on every load
- You cover your own fuel costs and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance and deductible buy-back insurance are required; details are provided when you apply
Benefits
This is a 1099 contractor position, so no company benefits are included.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
