About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractors to move units on over-the-road routes across the country. This is a contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator job, and you pick the loads that work with your schedule. Divisions include Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom.
Pay
- $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus fuel surcharge for most divisions, with the rate varying by load and division
- Same-day pay once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities: referral bonus, clean inspection bonus, mileage bonus, load bonus, and safety bonus
Schedule and workload
- You choose which loads to run, but you need to complete 3 to 5 loads each month to stay active
- Most runs are solo, typically 2 to 5 loads monthly, averaging 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Despite the company name, all contracted drivers run solo; there are no team positions
- You're expected to check in with dispatch at least weekly, even during periods without an active load
What you'll haul
- Units transported nationwide via driveaway, with specific divisions for Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom freight
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B; deck positions need a Double/Triple (T) Endorsement
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the past 3 years (2 years plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience for deck roles)
- Rideshare or delivery app driving (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Spark, etc.) doesn't count toward your experience
- A reasonably clean driving record and steady work history
- Ability to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of companies hauled for over the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules, with daily electronic logging through the Motive app (no paper logs)
- Your own tools and equipment for decking/un-decking
- Timely submission of paperwork, strong communication with dispatch, and on-time arrival at pickups and deliveries
- A professional, reliable attitude
- Real-time load tracking through MacroPoint for Truckers
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections logged for every load, along with photo documentation
- You cover your own fuel costs and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required (details provided during the application process)
Benefits
This is a 1099 contractor role with no company benefits package.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
