About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-B driver in Manistee, MI to operate a collection truck on a set route, handling waste pickup for residential and commercial customers.
What you'll do
- Inspect your truck before and after each shift, checking tires, fluids, gauges and safety equipment, and reporting any issues
- Drive your assigned route using a route sheet or map, and stop at each customer location in the order given by dispatch or your supervisor
- Use truck controls to lift, load and compact refuse, then haul it to the proper disposal site
- Flag containers that don't meet service standards and watch for waste that shouldn't be collected
- Clean up after any spills following safety procedures, and keep the packer blade and truck body clear of debris on each trip
- Fill out route, productivity and vehicle condition reports as required
- Treat customers, dispatchers and coworkers professionally, and keep up with productivity targets and safety rules
Requirements
- Class B or higher CDL with an air brakes endorsement
