CDL-B Local Delivery Driver — No Overnights, $17–$20/hr

The our company needs a CDL-B driver based in Tasley, VA to deliver food to partner agencies and pick up donations from stores and food drives, all within local routes and no overnight trips.

Pay

• $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Home time

• Local routes only, no overnight travel

• Monday-Friday, full-time, with occasional evening and weekend work

What you'll haul

• Food products moved between the Foodbank, partner agencies and donor locations such as grocery stores and food drives

• You'll drive a Foodbank vehicle rated up to 55,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight

• Work includes loading and unloading, sometimes in chilled or frozen conditions, and running a pallet jack or lift truck in the warehouse

Requirements

• Valid Virginia CDL, Class B, with no negative points

• At least 2 years of delivery driving or similar experience

• High school diploma or GED

• Comfortable operating a pallet jack and lift truck

• Able to read pick tickets, safety rules and procedure manuals, write basic reports, and handle routine math with whole numbers, fractions and decimals

• Lift truck certification (the Foodbank will provide recertification)

• Food safety training required after you're hired

• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for long stretches, climb, balance, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

• Must be able to commute to Tasley, VA 23441, or relocate there before starting
