About this job
Our company in Chicago, IL is looking for a CDL-B driver to deliver fresh produce and other food and restaurant items on local routes, with early morning start times between 4am and 6am.
Pay
- Starting salary of $1250 per week
Home time
- You'll be home every day
What you'll haul
- Food and restaurant supplies, including fresh produce, delivered to client locations
- This is touch freight: you'll load, unload and handle product using a 2-wheeled dolly, including on ramps and stairs
What the job involves
- Driving a company vehicle on assigned delivery routes, following all traffic laws
- Doing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and keeping the truck stocked and in good condition
- Interacting directly with customers and providing good service during deliveries
- Handling invoices, receipts and cash collected from deliveries
- Keeping accurate logs, manifests and other required paperwork
- Reporting any mechanical issues with the vehicle right away
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid CDL-B license with a clean driving record
- Valid DOT medical card
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly, and move loads up to 300 lbs using a dolly
- Comfortable reading, writing and speaking English, with basic math skills
- Able to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including entering coolers and freezers, and to sit, stand, bend and drive for extended periods
