CDL-B Assistant Branch Manager — Home Daily

Our company is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager with a CDL to help run its Tallahassee, FL retail branch. You'll split your time between supervising route drivers, supporting sales and safety programs, and driving a CDL-B truck to deliver industrial gas cylinders to customers.

Schedule

• Home every day

• Monday through Friday, generally starting between 6:30am and 8am

• Occasional weekend support to help the team and customers

What you'll do

• Fill in for the Branch Manager and guide branch staff when needed

• Coordinate driver routes and customer deliveries

• Help grow walk-in sales and support outside sales with quotes and leads

• Keep safety, quality and regulatory practices (OSHA, FDA, EPA, DOT) on track, including reviewing incidents and maintaining records

• Oversee upkeep of the facility and vehicle fleet, and support accurate inventory, shipments and paperwork

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections

• Load and unload gas cylinders and supplies by hand each day

Requirements

• Class A or B CDL with hazmat and airbrake endorsements (or ability to get hazmat within 60 days of hire)

• Valid driver's license, medical card and required endorsements kept current

• No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the past 3 years (or one of each)

• No DUI or controlled-substance driving violations in the past 7 years

• Able to work in a drug-free workplace

• Able to lift 75 lbs regularly and move loads over 125 lbs with equipment help

• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience in the past 5 years, or a trucking school completion certificate from the past 12 months

• High school diploma or GED

Helpful but not required: forklift experience, a bachelor's degree in business, management, accounting or a related field, 2+ years supervising staff (coaching, discipline, reviews), experience routing drivers, familiarity with SAP or similar systems, intermediate Google Workspace skills, and basic knowledge of welding, safety or gas and hardgoods products.
