CDL-A Yard Driver — Home Daily, $23/hr Plus $1 Shift Differential

Our company is hiring a CDL-A yard driver in Chicago, IL. You'll spend your whole shift shuttling trailers around one yard location instead of out on the highway, with no customer stops to worry about.

What the work looks like

• You stay within a single yard the entire shift, so there's no long-distance driving or heavy traffic

• The job centers on repositioning trailers and handling drop and hook moves between dock doors

• You'll run pre-trip and post-trip inspections, follow safety rules, and stay in touch with dispatch and yard staff

• You're responsible for keeping your logs and paperwork accurate

• The freight itself isn't touched by you, and there are no multi-stop customer runs

Schedule and pay

• You're home every day, with a schedule that stays the same from day to day

• Base pay runs $23.00 to $24.00 per hour, with an added $1 shift differential

• Overtime is available once you pass 40 hours in a week

• Pay is issued weekly

• Referring someone who gets hired and stays on can earn you up to $2,000

What you'll need

• A valid Class A CDL

• A current DOT medical card

• A clean driving history

• Prior experience handling tractor-trailers

• Willingness to work outdoors in any weather

• Physically able to climb in and out of the truck repeatedly through your shift
