CDL-A Truck Driver — Home Every Weekend, $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

CMC is hiring a CDL-A truck driver in the Knoxville, TN area to deliver steel and construction reinforcement products to customers and jobsites in the region. You'll be home every weekend, and there's a $5,000 sign-on bonus for joining.

What you'll haul

• Deliveries to customers, contractors and jobsites in the region

• Loading tasks include chaining, strapping, tarping, hooking and unhooking trailers, and using sideboard kits

What the job involves

• Pre-trip, inter-trip and post-trip inspections of your truck and load

• Loading, securing and delivering cargo on schedule

• Checking product quantity and condition

• Keeping vehicle service and repair logs per state and federal rules

• Running an ELD and safety dashcam (training given)

• Handling delivery paperwork and keeping dispatch, sales and customers updated on load or timing issues

• Following safety procedures and wearing required PPE

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• At least 21 years old

• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience (3 years of flatbed OTR experience preferred)

• No DUI/DWI in the past five years

• No more than one moving violation in the past three years

• Able to pass DOT physical and drug screening

• Working knowledge of DOT rules

• Able to lift up to 65 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather

• Comfortable climbing, working with chains/straps, and getting on and off the truck/trailer

• Good verbal communication in English

• High school diploma or GED preferred
