About this job
Our company is hiring a CDL-A driver for a home-daily regional route between West Michigan and the Chicago area. You'll run Monday through Friday with weekends and holidays off, hauling freight for customers like Ice Mt., SAS, Amway, Perrigo, Menards, Chep Pallet and Crown Packaging.
Route and schedule
- Haul a load from West Michigan to the Chicago area, then bring back a backhaul load to West Michigan
- Work Monday through Friday only, no weekends or holidays
- Trucks return to the yard daily, though sleeper trucks may stay out to use remaining hours
What you'll haul
- Freight is 100% no-touch
- Mostly customer freight, with some broker backhauls to fill gaps
- Expect 25-50% of your stops to be drop and hook
Equipment
- Assigned Freightliner and International trucks, all automatics
- Trucks equipped with Qualcomm
- No passengers or pets allowed in company equipment
- Tractors cannot be taken home
Requirements
- CDL-A license
- At least 3 years of driving experience
- Paid training required for all drivers regardless of experience, at $200 per day, typically 2 days
