CDL-A Truck Driver — Day 1 Benefits + 401(k) Match

CMC is hiring a CDL-A truck driver to deliver steel and construction materials to customers and jobsites in the Nashville, TN region. You'll handle loading, securing and dropping off freight while following safety and DOT rules.

What you'll haul

• Deliveries to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region

• Loading tasks such as chaining, strapping, tarping, and hooking/unhooking trailers, plus use of sideboard kits

What you'll do

• Run pre-trip, inter-trip, and post-trip inspections on your truck and load

• Check product quantity and condition before and during delivery

• Fill out delivery paperwork and keep dispatch, sales, and customers posted on load or scheduling issues

• Keep vehicle service and repair records up to date per state and federal rules

• Use Electronic Logging Devices and safety dashcams (you'll be trained on these)

• Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures

• Stay flexible on hours depending on business needs

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Minimum age 21

• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience; 3 years of flatbed OTR experience preferred

• No DUI/DWI in the past 5 years, and no more than one moving violation in the past 3 years

• Able to pass DOT physical and drug screening

• Working knowledge of DOT rules and requirements

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and lifting up to 65 lbs.

• Able to climb, walk, handle chains/straps, and do physical inspection work

• Strong spoken English and listening skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or GED preferred
