CDL-A Truck Driver — $29.93–$36.09/hr Starting Pay

Our company is looking for a full-time CDL-A driver in Grand Rapids, MI to run scheduled mail routes on a set block schedule. This postal contract route involves driving a tractor trailer and handling cargo during loading and unloading.

Pay

• Starting pay is $29.93 to $36.09 per hour

• That rate includes $29.93 in regular hourly pay plus $6.16 in Health & Wellness Pay, paid for up to 40 hours a week

• The Health & Wellness Pay goes toward health insurance costs, and you get it in your check whether or not you sign up for coverage

Schedule

• Sunday: 9:20 PM to 1:10 AM, paid as a 5-hour block

• Monday through Friday: 4:25 PM to 9:20 PM, paid as a 5-hour block

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A

• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience in the past 5 years

• Minimum age 23

• Clean driving record that meets company standards and applicable law

• Must pass USPS and federal pre-employment screening, a DOT physical and a drug test (company paid)

• Basic computer skills

• Able to lift and move cargo weighing up to 100 pounds, including pushing and pulling loaded carts; must be able to lift up to 60 pounds overhead, apply at least 70 pounds of pull force to release the 5th wheel lock and trailer tandems, and safely handle a cart loaded up to 500 pounds

What the job involves

• Showing up on time every scheduled day

• Doing pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIR) and reporting any truck issues to the local operations manager

• Following company, state and federal rules while completing your route each day

• Letting dispatch know about weather, traffic or breakdowns that could delay your arrival at postal facilities
