CDL-A Tanker Driver — Home Daily, $25.10–$33.37/hr

This job puts you behind the wheel hauling non-hazardous waste between our company facilities and client sites out of Milwaukee, WI. You will run a mix of manual and automatic equipment, including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, vans and flatbeds. The posting lists home daily.

Pay

• 25.10 - 33.37 USD per hour for the primary location.

• Where you land in the range depends on factors like experience, education, location, skills, travel requirements and union contracts if they apply.

• Level, title or salary may be adjusted based on your experience or skills.

Home time

• Home daily.

What you'll do

• Drive commercial vehicles over long distances following safety procedures and DOT regulations, and make your scheduled appointments.

• Run the pump equipment on your truck to load, unload or disperse cargo and materials.

• Inspect your vehicle and equipment before and after each trip.

• Handle the paperwork tied to hauling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and to vehicle upkeep, such as manifests, bills of lading, medical waste tracking, logs, delivery receipts, inspections and incident reports.

• Make sure your vehicle is placarded to DOT regulations.

• Stay in contact with dispatchers, customers and other drivers about instructions, delivery status and delays.

• Look out for coworkers, clients and the public while on the job.

• Read maps and follow written and spoken directions.

• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Age 21 or older, because of interstate travel and federal rules for commercial vehicles.

• CDL Class A with a tanker endorsement.

• At least 2 years of commercial Class A driving experience, including tanker work.

• Comfortable driving both manual and automatic transmissions.

• An acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.

• Hazmat endorsements.

Physical demands

• Walk, stand, sit and climb for long stretches.

• Grab, grip, reach, push, pull, and lift or carry 50 lbs.

• Work at heights and in confined spaces.

• Work in all kinds of weather.

• Vision and hearing are needed for the job.
