About this job
Our company recycles and distributes industrial wood and steel utility poles for electric utilities and industrial partners nationwide. They need a dependable CDL-A Support Driver to back up logistics and field operations across multiple regions, including storm response work where you may be out for up to 2 weeks at a stretch.
What you'll do
- Drive company vehicles to support deliveries, field logistics, and project sites
- Haul materials, equipment, and supplies to job locations
- Keep accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and compliance paperwork
- Stay in contact with dispatch and your team on routing, delays, and updates
- Help cover emergency and high-volume periods, including storm deployments
- Run pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow federal, state, and company safety rules
- Represent the company professionally with customers and coworkers
Schedule and travel
- Normal rotation gets you home every other weekend
- Be ready for schedule changes tied to storms, workload, or emergency callouts
- Expect overnight travel during big projects or weather mobilizations
Requirements
- Must live in the Mid-West area
- Valid CDL-A with a clean, verifiable driving record
- Able to drive for long stretches, including in tough conditions
- Reliable, safety-minded, and a clear communicator
- Able to lift, load, and move materials up to the company's specified weight limits
This is a full-time position.
