CDL-A Solo Regional Flatbed Driver — $29.00/hr Plus Per Diem

Ryder is looking for a solo CDL-A driver to run regional routes out of Columbus, OH, hauling mixed freight on flatbeds, dry vans, reefers and more. You'll work Monday through Friday with flexibility needed, and Ryder trains you on all the equipment you'll use.

Pay

• $29.00 per hour, paid weekly, with 40+ hours per week typical

• Add $1/hour for every 3 endorsements or certifications you hold

• $50 per night per diem for overnights in a Ryder-booked hotel or sleeper

• $1,000 tenure bonus paid each year

Routes and freight

• Solo runs covering IN, OH, MI, TN and KY

• Regional routes

• Tractors are day cabs and sleepers, possibly a 26' straight truck

• Trailers include 48'-53' flatbeds, dry vans, reefers, Conestogas, curtainsides and containers

• Freight is a mix of touch and no-touch, using pallet jacks, lift gates, rollers or a Moffett

• Trucks are 36 months old or newer, backed by 24/7 roadside support and fueling at over 800 locations nationwide

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements

• 1 year of flatbed experience

• Reefer experience

• Hazmat, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements

• Comfortable strapping, chaining and tarping loads

• Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years

• Must pass a drug test, background and motor vehicle check (including drug/alcohol history from past employers over the last 3 years), DOT physical and road test

• Able to follow instructions and apply relevant rules and procedures

• Some assignments may require added screening such as employment/education checks or customer badging

Responsibilities

• Follow applicable federal, state and company safety rules

• Spot and address safety hazards

• Keep accurate logs and records

• Load or unload freight when the customer requires it

• Handle other duties as assigned
