CDL-A Shuttle Driver Trainee — $1,040/Week, No Experience Needed

Our company in New Britain, CT is looking for an entry-level CDL-A driver to join its shuttle training program. You'll ride along with an experienced driver trainer, learn the ropes of local and shuttle delivery routes, and gain hands-on experience hauling food and related products for the company's distribution network.

• $1,040 per week

Schedule

• Sunday through Thursday, with dispatch times that vary

What you'll do

• Complete PFG's Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver program and keep required training records up to date

• Ride with and assist a driver trainer, following their guidance on deliveries

• Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the tractor and trailer to stay compliant with DOT rules, and report any issues

• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies, flagging hazards right away

• Deliver trailers along a set route, handle hook/unhook duties safely, and park equipment in designated spots

• Keep freight and equipment locked and secured at all times

• Bring damaged goods and customer returns back to the base facility and complete the paperwork

• Unload equipment and clear trash from trailers as needed

• Log hours of service daily per DOT and company rules

• Keep the tractor, dock area and trailers clean and organized, and wrap up paperwork at shift's end

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent

• 0 to 6 months of commercial driving experience

• Valid Class A CDL

• At least 21 years old

• Meets state licensing or certification rules where they apply

• Clean MVR for the past 3 years

• Able to pass a post-offer drug screen and a road test

• Holds or can obtain a current DOT health card

• Able to hand-lift freight and use a two-wheeler, lift gate or similar equipment to move and stack product cases weighing roughly 60 to 90 pounds, depending on location
