CDL-A Regional Truck Driver — Home Weekly, Trainees Welcome

Run a regional account out of Salt Lake City with steady freight and weekly home time. Solo, team, and owner operator setups are available, and brand-new CDL-A holders can train into the role.

Routes and freight

• You'll cover I-5, I-15, I-84, and I-90 in a well-established regional service area.

• The account stays busy year-round, though seasonal weather can cause some slowdowns.

• Freight mix includes drop and hook, live load, live unload, and preload work, with pay for unloading built in.

• You'll also earn $15 per stop on top of your regular pay.

Home time

• You're scheduled to be home every week on a dependable rotation.

Pay

• Mileage pay starts at $0.55 per mile plus DPP.

• Most drivers gross between $1,300 and $1,800 a week, depending on how much freight you move.

• Expect to run 1,900 to 2,200 miles weekly.

• New drivers get a pay guarantee for the first 3 months following their first solo dispatch.

• Your first paycheck includes $300 in orientation pay, and travel costs to orientation are covered.

Training for new CDL-A drivers

• New license holders ride with an experienced trainer for 4 to 6 weeks.

• Training pay is guaranteed at $800 a week, and you move straight to solo pay once you finish.

• You must have logged at least 120 hours at an accredited CDL school.

Requirements

• Experienced applicants need 6 months of OTR driving in the last year, or at least 12 months within the past 5 years.

• You must be 21 or older with a valid Class A CDL issued in your home state.

• Your driving record can show no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 5 years.

• You'll need to pass both hair and urine drug screens; prior military drivers can qualify with a valid DD214.
