About this job
Our company in Elgin, IL needs a CDL-A truck driver for regional runs with manual-transmission tractor-trailers. You'll be home during the week with no weekend or holiday work, handling touch freight with 7 AM appointment times.

What you'll haul
- General freight that requires hands-on loading and unloading
- Possible refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or hazmat loads depending on the run
- Freight must be properly secured and documented, including any hazardous materials paperwork
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks
- Experience in freight hauling or logistics preferred
- Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT rules, including hazmat handling
- Experience with refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker equipment is a plus
- Able to use GPS for route planning
- Physically able to manage long hours on the road and manual freight handling
- Doubles/triples endorsement not required to start - training provided
What the job involves
- Running pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting problems
- Keeping in contact with dispatch about routes, delays, and delivery updates
- Following all safety and compliance rules for commercial driving and cargo handling
