About this job
Our company is looking for new CDL-A drivers in Norfolk, VA for a regional route with weekends off. No prior tractor-trailer experience is needed, and recent CDL school graduates are welcome to apply.
Pay
- Earn $0.90 for every mile driven, with drivers typically covering about 1,500 miles weekly
- Extra pay opportunities include $20 for each stop, $40 for short hauls under 51 miles, and $240 for unloading
- A $100 weekly bonus is available if you work five days, drive safely, and avoid any accidents, incidents, or hours-of-service issues
- No bonus is offered for transitioning into the role
Home time
- Weekends off
- Both day and night shifts are available
- Some holiday work may be needed, and you may need to depart the night before an early delivery
What you'll haul
- Dedicated regional loads that are loaded and unloaded live
- Freight is floor-loaded, so you'll handle rollers, racks, and load bars during delivery
- Be prepared for the physical work involved in unloading
Equipment
- Trucks and trailers are kept in good condition and supported by a solid maintenance team
- Gear is set up for the demands of regional delivery work
Requirements
- Current Class A CDL
- No previous CDL-A driving experience necessary
- Able to meet DOT and FMCSA Clearinghouse standards
- Clean, safe driving history
- Comfortable with hands-on floor-load and roller freight
