CDL-A Overnight Delivery Driver - Jessup, MD

Our company in Jessup, MD is looking for a CDL-A driver to run overnight routes delivering and picking up office products for its customers. You'll handle the full route from pre-trip checks to proof of delivery, keeping everything compliant with DOT rules and company standards.

What you'll do

• Complete DOT-required pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Match paperwork to the products loaded and delivered

• Log your route, hours and proof of delivery electronically using an onboard tablet or ELD

• Keep your delivery vehicle clean and in good condition

• Follow all safety procedures, including rules for hazardous materials

• Collect returns and log them accurately

• Run your assigned route in the set sequence

• Load and unload orders using a pallet jack, power jack, hand truck, or by hand when needed

• Handle and file customer paperwork correctly

• Treat customers professionally and keep a neat appearance

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL meeting DOT standards

• At least 2 years of driving experience

• Clean driving record for the past 3 years

• Must meet and maintain our company' internal driving standards, shared during the interview

• Able to follow DOT regulations and keep all required licenses and qualifications current

• Strong attention to detail for matching product numbers, line codes and locations quickly

• High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months of related experience/training, or an equivalent mix of both

• Able to read basic instructions and write legibly

• Comfortable with simple addition, subtraction and multiplying/dividing by 10s and 100s

Experience with the Roadnet system for DOT logging and proof of delivery, plus familiarity with tablets or ELDs for navigation, is a plus.

Work conditions

The job involves standing, walking, reaching, and frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, with occasional climbing or balancing. You'll regularly lift and move items up to 60 pounds, and move heavier loads (over 1,000 pounds) using aids like hand trucks, dollies, motorized carts or pallet jacks. Good close, distance and peripheral vision is needed. Expect a loud work environment.
