About this job
Our company in Cambridge, MD is looking for a solo CDL-A driver to run over-the-road freight, mostly along the East Coast. You'll handle long-distance hauls independently while keeping safety and timely delivery a top priority.
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers across state lines on set routes
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks to stay compliant with FMCSA rules
- Plan your driving to hit delivery windows while following traffic laws
- Secure freight properly and keep shipment paperwork in order
- Stay in touch with dispatch on load status, route changes and any problems
- Log your hours, miles and deliveries accurately per DOT rules
Pay
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Requirements
- Valid CDL A
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Solid driving record with a history of safe long-haul operation
- Comfortable securing loads, handling documentation and dealing with customers
- Must be able and willing to pass random drug and alcohol screening
