About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver to run over-the-road routes hauling refrigerated freight. You'll keep temperature-sensitive loads moving safely and on time while staying compliant with federal trucking rules.
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated trailers on long-distance, over-the-road routes
- You'll load, secure and unload freight, handling it properly to keep it intact
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers safely over long distances, keeping cargo in good condition and deliveries on schedule
- Use GPS to plan efficient routes and keep delivery times on track
- Follow FMCSA, DOT and hazmat rules whenever dangerous goods are involved
- Run pre-trip and routine inspections to keep the truck safe and compliant
- Keep accurate paperwork: delivery logs, load manifests and inspection reports
- Stay in touch with dispatch and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries and any problems that come up
Requirements
- CDL-A with experience hauling tractor-trailers, ideally with refrigerated or temperature-sensitive loads
- Comfortable with freight handling and loading/unloading procedures
- Able to use GPS systems for route planning
- Knowledge of hazmat handling and FMCSA/DOT safety rules
- Manual transmission experience
- OTR driving background
