CDL-A Night Delivery Truck Driver — $91,000 Average Annual Pay

Our company in Matthews, NC is looking for a CDL-A driver to run overnight food and food service delivery routes. You'll move product from the warehouse to customers using a tractor trailer or straight truck, handling local, OTR, shuttle, and drive-and-drop routes.

Pay

• $91,000 average annual pay

• You're paid based on cases delivered, miles driven, stops made, and a dispatch fee

Schedule

• Dispatch starts at night, between 9pm and 2am depending on your route

• Routes include single-day layovers

What you'll haul

• Food and food-related products delivered to restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service locations

What the job involves

• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections on your tractor and trailer per DOT rules

• Hooking up preloaded trailers and driving your assigned route

• Hand-unloading product into customer storage areas using a two-wheeler, lift gate, or similar equipment; cases typically weigh 10-35 pounds, with some up to 60-90 pounds depending on location

• Checking invoices, confirming deliveries with customer signatures, and handling customer returns or damaged goods

• Collecting payment (cash or check) when required

• Logging hours of service and completing delivery paperwork accurately each shift

• Keeping your truck and the dock area clean and organized

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license

• At least 6 months of commercial driving experience

• Minimum age 21

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

• Clean MVR for the past 3 years

• Current DOT health card, or ability to obtain one

• Able to pass a post-offer drug test, background check, and road test

• Physically able to lift and move product cases of varying weight throughout your shift
