About this job
Our company is looking for a solo CDL-A driver in Kalamazoo, MI to run dry van routes to the Detroit and Grand Rapids metro areas, with home time every day.
Pay
- $30.00 per hour, paid weekly
- Expect around $1312 or more per week
- About 40-45 hours per week
- Paid training included
Schedule
- Works Tuesday through Friday
- Dispatch starts between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM
- Home every day after your route
What you'll haul
- Dry van trailers, 28' and 32' in length
- Day cab tractors, all under 36 months old
- Freight handling involves paint products, touch freight
- Electric and manual pallet jacks plus a lift gate on board
- Hazmat endorsement required within 90 days of being hired
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with the needed endorsements
- Tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5, or 5 years in the last 10
- Must pass our company's drug screening, background check, motor vehicle record review, and DOT physical
- Clean verification of drug and alcohol history from past employers covering the last 3 years
- Must pass a road test with our company
- Able to understand and follow written and spoken directions, along with relevant laws and policies
- Some positions may involve further screening, such as confirming your work and education history or meeting a customer site's badge and background rules
On the job, you'll keep your logs and records accurate, follow all safety and legal standards, watch for and avoid hazards, and help load or unload freight when customers require it.
