CDL-A Local Port Container Driver — Home Daily, $26/hr

Our company needs CDL-A drivers for a local dedicated port account hauling 40-foot containers, mostly bananas, between the Port of Wilmington, the local yard and the Chiquita distribution center. You'll stay within about a 15-mile radius of the port and be home every day. No container or port background needed - they'll train you on the account.

Pay

• $26 per hour, with raises each year

• $1,500 guaranteed weekly pay during your first 30 days

• Typical weekly earnings of $1,600 to $1,800

• Typical yearly earnings of $83,000 to $94,000

• $500 bonus for new hires, paid out on your second paycheck

• $3,000 for referring a qualified driver

• $250 a day for your two-day paid orientation

Home daily.

What you'll haul

Loaded 40-foot containers, mainly bananas, shuttled between the port, the yard and the Chiquita distribution center. Freight is no touch.

Schedule

Start times generally fall between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, with steady, dedicated local routes.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• TWIC card

• At least 21 years old

• At least 6 months of recent tractor-trailer driving experience

• Container or tanker experience preferred

• Must meet DOT qualifications and pass a drug test

• Clean driving, safety and employment record

• Comfortable maneuvering a tractor-trailer around port, yard and local delivery sites

• No diploma or degree needed
