CDL-A Local Driver / Forklift Operator — Union Scale Wages

Our company in Louisville, KY needs a local CDL-A driver who can also run a forklift at their distribution center. You'll handle pickups and deliveries close to the terminal, plus dock work loading and unloading trailers.

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver freight near the consolidation/distribution center

• Load and unload trailers using standard dock equipment and methods

• Run a forklift when needed

• Decide how to build and break down loads efficiently while staying within weight distribution rules

• Fill out paperwork, log loading sheets, check in freight, and inspect your tractor and trailer

• Take on other tasks as assigned; exact duties and hours depend on the terminal

Schedule

Hours and days vary by location and can include days, nights, and weekends; you'll need to be available for whatever schedule applies at this terminal. Travel is minimal, under 25%.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (drivers with less experience may still qualify for training)

• Class A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazmat endorsements

• At least 21 years old

• Solid, stable work history

• Clean driving record, checked through your MVR and past employers

• Able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and meet DOT medical standards

Pay

This is an hourly role paid weekly, at Teamster Union Scale, which runs higher than many other carriers. You'll also get overtime after 8 hours in a day.
