CDL-A Local Delivery Driver — Home Daily, $80,000–$90,000/yr Avg

Our company is hiring a CDL-A driver to run local food distribution routes out of Bowling Green, KY. You'll be home every day, with early morning dispatches and a Monday through Friday schedule.

Pay

• Average annual pay runs $80,000 to $90,000, depending on the route

Schedule

• Local routes, home daily

• Works Monday through Friday

• Dispatch times fall between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM

What you'll haul

• Food and food-related products delivered to customers such as restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools and other foodservice accounts

• You'll drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes

What the job involves

• Pre- and post-trip inspections of your tractor and trailer to meet DOT and company safety standards, reporting any issues

• Checking that freight is loaded and secured correctly, and matching items against customer invoices

• Completing accurate, legible paperwork for every load

• Hooking up preloaded trailers and driving your assigned route

• Unloading orders at customer locations, checking for damage, and getting signatures to confirm delivery

• Collecting payment (cash or check) when required

• Loading customer returns and damaged goods back onto the trailer for drop-off at check-in

• Logging hours of service daily per DOT and company rules

• Keeping your truck, dock area and trailer clean and organized

• Representing the company professionally with customers, vendors and coworkers

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 6 months of commercial driving experience

• Valid CDL-A

• Minimum age 21

• Clean MVR for the past 3 years

• Must pass a post-offer drug test, criminal background check and road test

• Valid DOT Health Card, or able to obtain one

• Able to hand-lift freight and use a two-wheeler or lift gate to move product cases ranging from about 10-35 pounds up to 60-90 pounds, depending on location

• Must meet any applicable state licensing requirements
