CDL-A Local Delivery Driver — $40.93/hr, Touch Freight

Our company is looking for a Class A driver in the Lockport, IL area to deliver supplies to Dunkin' stores and production kitchens. Dispatch starts between 1am and 3am, and the schedule includes 1 to 3 layovers per week with weekend and holiday work.

Schedule

• Full-time, 5-day workweek including weekends and holidays

• Dispatch between 1am and 3am

• Solo, driver/driver, or driver/helper routes available

What you'll haul

• Deliveries to Dunkin' franchise locations and production kitchens

• 100% touch freight: you'll hand-unload cargo using a two-wheeler or pallet jack at each stop

• Work happens in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions

What the job involves

• Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to keep the truck road-ready

• Verifying delivery paperwork before leaving the distribution center and documenting each drop

• Scanning product labels at every stop and flagging any shortages or damage

• Keeping travel and delivery logs in line with Federal, State, and DOT rules

• Staying in touch with NDCP's Member Services team on any delivery issues

• Keeping the truck cab clean and clearing delivery trash (shrink wrap, cardboard, crates, pallets) from stores

• Acting as NDCP's main point of contact with customers at delivery sites

• Training and working with a Delivery Assistant when one is assigned, including help maneuvering the truck at delivery locations

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record

• At least 6 months of driving experience (1 year preferred)

• Current DOT Medical Certification Card and ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening

• Able to repeatedly lift and pull 50+ lbs and operate a hand truck or pallet jack across multiple stops per shift

• Reliable attendance and a strong customer service mindset

• Must be able to run a 10-speed manual transmission if the assigned truck requires it

• Comfortable operating a lift gate and refrigeration unit

• Meets FMCSA driver qualification standards, including English proficiency for communicating with the public, reading road signs, and completing required reports

• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
