CDL-A Local Delivery Driver — $24.50–$35.00/hr + Component Pay

Our company is looking for a CDL-A delivery driver in Charlotte, NC to bring food products to customers on local routes. You'll drive, unload, and build relationships with the customers you serve, with dispatch happening early in the morning on a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Pay

• Base rate between $24.50 and $35.00 an hour, depending on your experience, skills and location

• Additional component pay based on factors like cases handled, mileage, or stops

Schedule

• Monday through Friday

• Dispatch times fall between 1 AM and 5 AM

What you'll do

• Drive your route safely and hit scheduled delivery windows

• Unload freight using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand, placing items where the customer wants them

• Confirm orders are correct and collect signatures

• Take payments or collections from customers when needed

• Represent the company well in every customer interaction

• Complete inspections on your truck before and after each trip

Physical demands

• Repeatedly lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling loads from 20 to over 80 lbs each shift

• Working outdoors in all weather, with 10 or more stops per shift

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Valid Class A CDL from your state of residence, with required endorsements and DOT qualifications

• At least six months of commercial driving experience in any industry, or three months in food or beverage delivery

• Able to drive a manual transmission is preferred, and required at some locations

• Able to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, communicate with officials, and fill out reports

• Must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a DOT-mandated database tracking CDL holders' drug and alcohol program records (registration info at clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov)
