About this job
Our company is hiring a CDL-A driver to haul livestock out of Waverly, VA. You'll go through a paid training program before taking on regular live haul runs, with animal welfare as the top priority on every load.
Pay
- Drivers average $85,000 a year once training is complete
What you'll haul
- Live animals (hog/livestock), from pickup to delivery, loading and unloading as needed
- A relocation package is available
Schedule
- Flexible hours required, including nights, weekends and holidays
Requirements
- Current CDL Class A
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Minimum age 21
- Clean driving record
- Able to get a DOT medical card after hire
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Comfortable operating a manual transmission tractor
- Able to lift 50 lbs, climb into the engine compartment for pre-trip checks, hook up and unhook trailers (including backing under them and working the landing gear), and open/close trailer gates for loading and unloading animals
- Willing to complete the company's driver training program and follow all DOT and safety rules, including prompt accident reporting
